Visitors of a Temporary Casino Spent Over $37 Million in Just One Week

The temporary Hard Rock Casino started working on July 8 in Bristol, Virginia. It took the players little more than a week for the total amount spent on bets there to reach $37.5 million. Of these, $34.5 million were spent on slot machines, while table games accounted for $2.9 million. After adjusting and deducting payouts, the casino’s revenue was $3.74 million. At the same time, income tax amounted to more than $637,000.

The temporary facility covers an area of 30,000 square feet. It has 20 different gambling tables and almost 900 slot machines at its disposal. In addition to the main gaming area, the casino offers areas for high rollers and separately for non-smokers. The building also houses a lounge zone, a sports bar, a snack bar, and a restaurant.

Hard Rock International completed the recruitment activities in June. Candidates for dealer, security, and retail jobs were people over 18 years of age who needed to fill out an application. The temporary gambling facility offered 600 new jobs, according to the company.

Meanwhile, the construction of a permanent casino in the city is still underway and will not be completed until 18-24 months from the present time. This project was valued at $300 million. The new facility will have 100 tables and 2,700 slots. Along with the gambling area, the building will have a conference hall, several shops, bars, and restaurants, as well as an outdoor concert venue.

Let us remind you that a 126-acre site in Las Vegas was sold for more than $172 million to Station Casinos.
