Century Casinos Buys Rocky Gap Casino Resort for $56 Million

Century Casinos and Lakes Maryland Development have reached a definitive agreement to purchase Rocky Gap Casino Resort. The deal cost Century Casinos approximately $56,000,000.

In doing so, an affiliate of VICI Properties will acquire the real estate of the casino for around $204m. Century Casinos will amend its triple net lease agreement to add the Rocky Gap property.

Co-Chief Executive Officers of Century Casinos, Peter Hoetzinger and Erwin Haitzmann, noted that the acquisition of Rocky Gap Casino Resort, along with the upcoming acquisition of Nevada’s Nugget Casino Resort, were important steps in the company’s pursuit to acquire first-class assets in the US. The company also looks forward to working with both casino management and staff and the Maryland regulator to ensure a great future for Rocky Gap.

Rocky Gap Casino is located in Flintstone, Maryland. It attracts over half a million visitors annually.

The resort covers 270 acres. It has a gambling floor with 16 table games and 630 slot machines.

There are also five bars and restaurants, 198 hotel rooms, a spa, an 18-hole golf course, and a 5,000-square-foot event center.

The resort recently received a $10,000,000 investment to further improve the gaming area and the hotel.
